The Terry Fox Canadian Youth Centre is
located in a residential area in Ottawa. Founded in 1982, The
Terry Fox Canadian Youth Centre was named in honour of the young
Terry Fox. The Centre is known for its warm and inviting atmosphere
and its multiple services. |
The Terry Fox Canadian Youth Centre offers the
following facilities and services:
- Dormitories: Two 29-bed and two 40-bed dormitories on two floors
with 69 beds per floor for a total of 138 beds;
- Private rooms (6): 3 private rooms per floor, two of which have
shared
bathrooms whereas the third has its own bathroom;
- Work rooms: 6 meeting rooms and 1 conference room;
- Resource centre: various documentation, television, VCR, etc.;
- Café Internet: 21 work stations;
- Infirmary with nurse on duty one hour each day;
- Cafeteria-Auditorium: can accommodate 200 people;
- In-house kitchen: providing 3 complete meals each day;
- On-site facility for making airplane, train and bus reservations
and issuing tickets on site;
- Security and Reception Service - 24 hours a day as well as a
waiting room;
- Lockers available on the ground floor;
- Automatic teller;
- Small convenience store on site;
- Audio-visual as well as telephone conference call equipment
available;
- Laundry service available once a week (sheets and blankets)
coin-operated washers and dryers available;
- Outdoor volleyball and basketball courts;
- Our Centre is wheelchair accessible.
